Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Bo Diddley is reported as 'improving' at a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, after suffering a stroke. The 78-year-old rock and blues legend was hospitalized after a concert in western Iowa, during which he was reportedly acting disoriented. His publicist reported at the time that the stroke had affected the left side of his brain, impairing his speech.
The latest news is that Bo Diddley is out of danger and has been moved to a standard room in the hospital. His business manager Faith Fusillo said, "I was able to speak with him by phone ..... he wanted to know where his stuff was - his guitar and the money from the gig. I was so happy because that is the Bo that I know and love and a real indication that he is on his way back." Fusillo added that while Diddley is still having some trouble speaking he appears to have suffered no long-term physical damage from the stroke which is excellent news for all fans.
Bo Diddley has been an iconic figure in rock history since he topped the charts in 1955 with the self-titled album 'Bo Diddley.' He's also known for hits like 'Who Do You Love,' 'Mona,' and 'Before You Accuse Me.' One of the founding fathers of rock 'n' roll, Diddley was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1987. He received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998.
