Eric Burdon
We are delighted to announce the
return of legendary Animals front man, Eric Burdon to
play a gig in Newcastle on Sunday 8th August.
It has been over eight years since Burdon performed in
Newcastle when he thrilled two thousand ecstatic fans.
Still working very hard and touring the world every
year, Burdon’s visits to the Northeast are sadly very
rare.
Acknowledged as one of Northeast’s greatest ever rock exports, Burdon is rated at the highest level in both America and Europe. Without doubt he is an outstanding singer, with lots of big summer festivals in his schedule, but he is said to be overjoyed at returning to Newcastle.
His last visit was back in 2002 when he made a triumphant return to his home city - more than a quarter of a century after his previous gig on Tyneside. Burdon walked out on stage to tumultuous applause and, launching into Don't Bring Me Down, demonstrated that his amazing lung capacity is still very much intact.

The Hamsters
Do Hendrix
We have been working with the Hamsters for about fifteen years and yet to have a duff gig. Despite the hundreds of gigs and long trips touring the UK and Europe, the lads always turn in a cracking show. Yes, the musicianship is tip-top, but they are also highly entertaining. The trio of guitar, bass and drums trio have long been established as one of the UK's premier live bands having performed over 4,000 concerts in 23 years. Although primarily playing their own brand of rootsy Rock, Blues and Americana, they're also widely regarded as the UK's leading interpreters of the music of Jimi Hendrix and ZZ Top which will no doubt be featuring in this gig.

Former Young Guitarist of the Year.
Simon McBride
Contemporary blues-rock packed with energy and memorable hooks.
Irishman Simon McBride evokes the spirit of such great bands as Free and Led Zeppelin; that point in musical history when blues guitar blossomed into a sound and an attitude of mind that defined a generation and continues to inspire.
As both a virtuoso guitarist and an Irishman (Hailing from near Belfast, Northern Ireland) comparisons are often made with Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore, although he sounds like neither in particular, having developed a style and a sound that is all his own.
Simon McBride’s talent as a guitarist is undeniable. Simon first started playing at age 10 and, completely self-taught, entered and won Guitarist Magazine's Young Guitarist of the Year competition when he was only 15, with a performance that stood head and shoulders above some very strong competition.
He was immediately recruited by Sweet Savage (Vivian Campbell, Def Leppard) with whom he recorded two albums and regularly played major festivals. That was 13 years ago, and since then he has toured the world as guitarist for diverse acts, including Grammy nominated soul-man Andrew Strong.
