We had a cracking gig at Sunderland in
November, so a beer or two later and after a few
threats, the Hamsters have agreed to do
their amazing Hendrix + ZZ Top gig at the
Cluny.
After the Sunderland gig in November ....

Thank you to the the folks of
Sunderland for putting in the effort and giving
us such a large crowd. This was a vintage
Hamsters gig with five star renditions of
Hendrix and ZZ Top classics. The
place was rocking, the floor was bouncing, the
lasses were dancin' and the even the bar staff
were jigging!
All of the top tunes were in
there with a particularly good 'Watchtower' ...
always a big favourite. The finale was a
storming mix with everyone joining in - as one
bloke at the back said, "those lads can
certainly play, unbelievable."

The Hendrix + ZZ
Top Set
Now in their twentieth year
together, having performed more than 3,750
concerts and with a national mailing list
exceeding 20,000, the Hamsters
are established as the UK's premier blues-rock
attraction. This has been achieved purely by
hard work with the band handling all their own
affairs, thereby disproving the popular
misconception that it can't be done without
major-label "muscle".
The Hamsters are one of the
most exciting live bands you will ever see and
they are coming to Sunderland on Thursday 30th
November for a special night of Jimi Hendrix and
ZZ Top classics. This outstanding guitar, bass
and drums trio have long been established as one
of the UK’s premier blues-rock attractions.
Although normally primarily
playing their own brand of R&B material, the
Sunderland gig will see them delivering their
famous Jimi Hendrix and ZZ Top set for which
they are widely regarded as being Europe’s
leading interpreters.
Hard work certainly comes
into it, but the main reason for their success
has to be their incredible skill as musicians.
Front man and vocalist Slim is regularly named
in magazine and radio polls in the top
guitarist’s lists and so he should be playing
Hendrix the way he does.
Back in 1997, at one of
their gigs, a guy in the audience asked to see
the venue manager to demand his money back. The
club manager was dumbfounded when the customer
claimed “the band are miming, no one can play
Hendrix that good.” Of course he didn’t get his
money back, the Hamsters are that good, and they
really do play Hendrix almost as good as the
great man himself did. There’s none better.
And when it comes to ZZ
Top, the Quayside Exchange will need a solid
floor as the whole place will rock until the
walls bend. The Hamsters enduring popularity
comes from performing over 3,750 concerts in a
career that spans over 20 years. They are
renowned for their exciting live stage
performances so be prepared to see many a jaw
drop when these guys get into their stride.
There are many famous fans
of the Hamsters from Damon Hill to Radio 2’s Bob
Harris who said "They’re fabulous: one of
Britain's very best live bands." For the
