Location: Westgate Road, corner with Clayton Street Facilities: Two auditoriums, bars in both, late licence. Mainly standing, but some seating available. Metro/Trains: Newcastle Central Station is only two minutes walk Parking: Some on-street parking, Fenkle Street multi-storey (next street), Times Square multi-storey, The Gate multi-storey
Facilities: Gigs are held in the concert room which is mainly a standing gig. Within the pub, there is an excellent range of quality real ales and good food. Location: 36 Lime Street, Ouseburn, Newcastle, 0191 230 4474 Metro: The nearest Metro is at Byker, walk down Shields Road (past Morrisons on your right) to Byker Bank, down Byker Bank and turn right into Lime Street, the Cluny is on the right. Manors is a little further, walk along New Bridge Street and down Stepney Bank. By Road: Go into Newcastle,, the Cluny is in the east end near Byker. Take the A193 (off the Central Motorway) east along New Bridge Street, take the next right past the large church (on the right) at the traffic lights into Crawhall Road and turn immediately left down Stepney Bank, the Cluny is at the bottom. Car parking is on the street. The doors open at 7.00pm and the support is 8.00pm with Dr Feelgood at 9.00pm.
Location: High Street East. (venue is less than 10 minutes walk from the Metro in the city centre) Facilities: Smart new venue with bars on three levels. Metro: Direct to Sunderland
By Road: From the North and the West use the A19. Take the A1231 into Sunderland. Go past the Alexandra Bridge along the B1289 which takes you past the Stadium Of Light and follow the City Centre signs. Go across the main Wearmouth Bridge stay in the left lane, turn left at the lights at the end of the bridge on the A1018 ring road, High Street East is left at the next roundabout. (Signposted Old Sunderland) The venue is a 200 yards on the left. From the south go into Sunderland and pick up the A1018 ring road signposted for South Shields until you get to the Old Sunderland roundabout and turn right. Note - The Quayside Exchange does not sell tickets for gigs, but they are available from Hotrats Music in Stockton Road which is next to the bus station. Call Hotrats on 0191 567 2099
Location: North Shields Metro is close by. Facilities: Well appointed auditorium with 'bottle' bar. Real ale drinkers should meet before the gig at the Magnesia Bank in Camden Street which is just around the corner. By Road: The easiest route is to take the Coast Road [A1058] to North Shields which runs from Newcastle. This can be accesses from the A19 from the north or the south. Parking is on the surrounding streets.
Location: 258 Station Road, Wallsend. Approx 7 miles from Newcastle Facilities: Bar in the room, seating is cabaret style and available on a first come basis. By Road: The easiest route is from the Coast Road [A1058] which runs from Newcastle to North Shields. From the north or the south take the A19 to the A1058. Along the A1058 take the A186 to Wallsend - the A186 is Station Road and the Buddle is on the left when driving into the town centre.
Metro: Wallsend Metro Station is of course in Station Road. It's about a good five minute walk.
Location: Albert Road. Facilities: The Crypt is a mixed standing and seated venue with a bar. By Rail: Middlesbrough train station is only five minutes walk. By Road: From North or South take the A19 to the A66. From the West take the A66. The A66 takes you directly into Middlesbrough. Take the A172 slip road and follow the signs to the car parks such as Wilson Street. Alternatively take the previous exit for the A178 but turn right at the roundabout on to the B1272 - turn left at the next lights and follow the Car Park sign.
Location: Priestpopple, which is the main street in Hexham. Directly opposite the bus station. Facilities: Bar, mixed seating and standing, seats not reserved or guaranteed. If you are planning to spend the night, the hotel has rooms. Call 01434 602 270 By Rail: Take the Carlisle train from either Sunderland or Newcastle By Road: From Newcastle take the A69 to Hexham - it's about 20 miles and all dual carriageway. Note that the A69 links directly with the A1 to the west of Newcastle at Denton. The Royal has a car park, or there is on-street parking or a very large town car park at the Wentworth Centre.
Location: Front Street, Consett Facilities: This is a fully seated theatre with bars. All tickets will be seat numbered. There are many bars in Front Street including a large Weatherspoons only 100 yards from the theatre. By Road: Consett can be reached both from the A1(M) and A68. Take the A692 from Gateshead (19 miles). Or get on to the A1(M) to the Chester Le Street roundabout and A693 via Stanley (13 miles). From the A19 you can get on to the Chester Le Street roundabout using the A182 or A690. There is various on-street parking or drive past with the Empire on your right to the main town car parks.
