Back after last years storming gig .........
Do you remember those days of the superb
clubs, top-class bands, hot, sweaty and a great
atmosphere? Those days are still here and can be
found again at Newcastle’s Cluny
with one of
Europe’s leading blues to R&B outfits this
November. Dr Feelgood is one of the best live
bands on the circuit and so they should be,
they’ve been doing it long enough. With the
highly animated and outstanding vocalist Robert
Kane up front, Steve Walwyn
will be letting rip on
lead guitar and Phil
Mitchell (no not that one) is simply
superb on bass. There is only one thing missing –
a decent pint. But the
Cluny
is one of the regions real ale houses so
that’s sorted – now we are in heaven.
Formed
on Canvey Island in Essex in the early 1970's Dr
Feelgood has become one of the most popular live
rhythm and blues acts in the world. The raw and
uncompromising style that made them so popular
resulted in the band achieving a number one
chart position with the album
"Stupidity" - a testament to their
dynamic stage show.
They
have enjoyed a string of hit singles in many
countries including Milk
& Alcohol, Down at the Doctors, Roxette,
She's a Wind Up and See
You Later Alligator. The
band have had a couple of changes over the
years, but the high quality remains constant.
The current line-up is led by drummer Kevin
Morris with Steve Walwyn on lead guitar,
Phil
Mitchell on bass and charismatic vocalist Robert
Kane who learned his craft in the gigs of the
Northeast and Cumbria.
Whilst
the all the band members are excellent musicians
hearing Walwyn in full flight is worth the money
alone for guitar fans and you will need to go a
very long way to find a better front man than
Robert Kane!
The
show will no doubt again attract old and new fans so
make sure to order
your tickets today as last years gig was
near capacity. If you catch one gig
this year, this is the one! Tickets Ł12.50 from
the Cluny or this web site. |
